SunBorne Energy is a startup company looking to make utility scale solar a reality in India. SunBorne has been established by internationally recognized experts in solar thermal power generation, a prominent US based private equity fund with assets in excess of $1.7 billion, and business leaders with experience in building businesses in India.
Our company’s mission is to leverage our team’s technology experience in building solar thermal plants in USA and Spain, towards making concentrating solar thermal power (CSP/CST) competitive with grid scale power in India. Our initial focus is exclusively on the Indian market because we foresee significant potential for solar thermal electric power in India due to its rapidly growing economy, acute power needs, and abundant availability of solar radiation.
The company is based in Gurgaon, Haryana. Travel to project sites across the country will be required. SunBorne Energy offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Solar Thermal Engineer
We are seeking a talented and dynamic Solar Thermal Engineer with emphasis on heat transfer and solar energy. Principal responsibilities will be to provide engineering support in the areas of developing simulation models and performing component/system thermodynamics and thermal analysis; solar radiation measurement and data analysis; heat transfer, flow and pressure calculations for heat exchangers, piping, pump etc.
Eligibility:
+ Minimum BTech Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree in solar or thermal engineering such as MTech is preferred
+ Knowledge of basic heat transfer and thermodynamics is required
+ Experience/education in solar energy, energy conversion, thermal power generation systems is desirable
+ Hands-on experience in design, fabrication, experimentation of laboratory scale test fixture including temperature, flow and pressure measurements
+ Understanding of CAD and finite element analysis is a plus
+ Detail-oriented project execution, documentation and analytical skills
+ Ability to multi-task, strong communication and interpersonal skills
General Manager Engineering
Eligibility:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from a leading university
Master’s in related field preferred
15-20 years work experience
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
+ Providing overall leadership for SunBorne Energy’s engineering and design function. You will provide technical direction for specific tasks and assign work to other team members.
+ Coordinating technical issues with other groups on projects including constructability requirements and reviews.
Selecting engineering firms for various tasks. Leading feasibility and detailed design with internal and external resources. Creating engineering designs, providing guidance, checking and ensuring engineering quality design of independent engineering firms.
+ Value engineering analysis to provide technical support during the construction phase.
+ Coordinate and visit job sites as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents and assisting in on-the-job training of assigned people.
Project Manager
Eligibility:
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from a leading university
+ Master’s in related field preferred
+ 15-20 years work experience
Project Manager will be responsible for SunBorne Energy’s project sites and will be required to shoulder concept to commissioning responsibility for all new projects. The Project manager will be responsible right from land acquisition to commissioning of the plant. He will be required to liaison with the government agencies and concerned departments to get clearances, finalizing the layout, setting up of the plant and making the plant operational.
Responsibilities:
+ Building SunBorne Energy’s Concentrated Solar Power Plants
+ Project scheduling, project budgeting, vendor development
+ Anchoring on-site installation & commissioning activities and project review meetings to ensure completion of project well within time, cost and quality parameters, establishing quality and safety standards, effective resource utilization to maximize the output and managing the bottlenecks.
+ Supervision manpower resource for various types of job, resolving bottlenecks and ensuring their focus towards project goals in a cohesive manner.
+ Co-ordination among consultants, contractors and clients.
Evaluation & execution of (Sub) Contracting Works.
+ Negotiation, award and review of (Sub) Contracts as per relevant contract regimes.
+ Management of all construction activities including providing technical inputs for methodologies of construction & co-ordination with Site Management.
+ Manage erection, testing & commissioning of E&M services, operation & maintenance of plant, machineries and E&M Services.
